What happens in a lot of relationships is that couples end up putting too much effort in trying to please each other. There is nothing wrong with making your partner happy at all times. The only problem is making so much of a habit of it that you do not even try new things.

Television and magazines might teach you certain things about women that are not exactly true. Of course women love and hate certain things but this is not always the case. Sometimes doing something a magazine forbade you from doing might actually please your partner. One thing though: just ensure you consult with your girlfriend beforehand. It might later turn out that what they said was true. So to be on the safe side just enquire first.

As men we sometimes forget to be romantic. These days romance appears to be dead and forgotten having been restricted to television and fairytale stories. Believe it or not but a nice cake made in a heart cake pan, a quiet walk during sunset or even flowers can spice up your relationship in so many ways.

Travelling is another way of spicing things up with your partner. When you travel as one you get to be alone and talk about issues you would never think of in the hurried trauma of city life. If anything this is a wonderful way of creating lasting memories that will bring you closer. Hate it or love it but a few videos or a picture of you sitting innocently together on kitchen bar stools at a resort will solidify your affair.

Have a lot more double dates with other couples. This mode of dating extends the reach of your relationship to an area of fellowship that is nurturing. This way you definitely get to see how she acts around people apart from you and her family. You will see how easily you develop friendships with other couples, something every couple really needs.

If you are dedicated to improving your relationship things will actually change for the better. However, if you are negative about it you might end up losing someone who loved you dearly.

It’s not altogether accurate to make blanket statements about human behavior, but in many ways we’re all alike. Men in general don’t think in terms of relationships, they think in terms of having sex. The relationship part of the equation doesn’t enter until they’re hopelessly in love. Ask any group of men if they have ever thought about solitaire engagement rings and they will just laugh.

Then go and ask a group of women if they have ever thought about princess cut engagement rings. Almost every girl has. Women, whether they like to admit it or not, want commitment from men. Men don’t want to think about it.

Nature must be very clever to have found a way to make men make a commitment to women. As if by magic, what started out as a simple affair turns into a full blown love affair. Suddenly a man is willing to throw away his freedom just to be with one woman. Some people even think falling in love is a form of insanity, but without it, life probably wouldn’t work.

There are no doubt biological imperatives in the whole process of mating. Before the age of birth control, if a woman had sex, she was in danger of getting pregnant. As a result, women were never as promiscuous as men. It was too dangerous. Therefore, women always put the commitment of marriage high on their list of priorities. While birth control has allowed women more freedom, it hasn’t changed their more basic need for security in a mate.

The mystery is why men don’t just take off when women get pregnant, but they don’t – at least not often. Even if you ignore the social taboos, men feel a gut sense that the baby is theirs as well and that they have to take care of it, even though a baby was the last thing on his mind when he was having sex.

Enjoy your Saturday nights while you can. You’re taking part in an ancient mating ritual. The girls exchange their girls sweatshirts for their sexiest outfits and the guys wear the coolest clothes they can find in their closets. You dance and flirt and get drunk and if you’re lucky, you get what you were looking for.

Then the day will come when you get more than you bargained for. You’ll give up your Saturday nights and stay at home and change your baby’s diapers. You’ll be happy to do so, too. That’s how life works. Just accept it.

He was never into sports, and so would not understand the joys of collecting sports-related keepsakes. In relation to all these, Victoria doubts if John will ever get around to giving her a solitaire engagement ring and propose marriage.

At the same party, Jason and Christine were also introduced. That was that. However, they ended up seeing each other weekly because of a bowling tournament they joined. Having common friends, they would have coffee before going home. They started having practice games to warm up before the tournament starts. Jason grew to enjoy Christine’s company. They had much more to talk about. Unlike his former girlfriend, Christine shared his love for the sport; and so understood why he spent so much time and money on bowling.

Between the two couple, who would better welcome early pregnancy signs? The couple that slowly drifted apart because the differences went unnoticed at the onset, John and Victoria? Or Jason and Christine, the pair that did not hit it at first, but over the course of time, fell for each other as they realized how alike they were?

For any relationship to flourish, couples need to spend time together. They need to appreciate one another; and know that they are being appreciated too. If you ask me, Jason and Christine will probably have better chances of a long and happy future together.

Everything starts with chemistry. If this chemistry is the initial physical attraction between two people, it must be sustained by common principles and common character traits. Otherwise, it will eventually fade away.
